Photographer Bio -
I grew up in Bhubaneswar (Orissa) and studied/worked in the areas of visual/digital communication in New Delhi, Maryland/DC, and New York City.
I extensively cover and support social justice movements that include media activism, lgbtq rights, disability rights, women’s rights, prison reforms, antiracist coalitions, and pro-Dalit, pro-Kashmir, pro-Palestine, anticapitalist formations.
As a photographer and documentarian, I have taken portraits of Amiri Baraka, Pete Seeger, Sonia Sanchez, Angela Davis, Noam Chomsky, Selma James, Billie Jean King, among others.
I have been accredited as a photojournalist by the NYPD for the New York City; a credentialed media for the Mercedes Benz (and for the NYFW) to cover Fashion Weeks; and for the Left Forum to cover keynote addresses, among others.
My photographs have appeared in Elle Magazine (France), Be Magazine (France), Hatier (France), Daily Mail (UK), Sueddeutsche Zeitung (Germany), Grazia Magazine (Italy), Women's Day Magazine (New Zealand), The Telegraph (UK), The Sun (UK), Macleans (Canada), The Globe and Mail (Canada), L A Times, Huffington Post, NY Daily News, New York Magazine, and New York Post among others. They have also been featured on ABC News, Dr Phil Show, The Kilborn File, CBS, and NBC.
